Vehicle recovery in Hull
The M62 finishes at Junction 38 near North Cave, and the A63 carries on for about 25 miles to Hull as its eastward continuation. It passes the Beacon services near Everthorpe and a grade-separated junction at North Ferriby before becoming Clive Sullivan Way, named after the rugby league player, from Hessle into the city. Through the centre it becomes Castle Street, which carried more than 55,000 vehicles a day before the Mytongate scheme lowered the road into an underpass. That opened to traffic in late March 2026. The A63 ends at a junction with the A1033 Hedon Road near the docks.
The Humber Bridge carries the A15 from Hessle to Barton-upon-Humber. It is run by the Humber Bridge Board, not by us or National Highways, and its own response team deals with incidents on the bridge around the clock, using impact protection vehicles to shield the scene. If you stop on the bridge, follow their instructions; they decide how a stranded vehicle is removed from the deck. Once the car is off the bridge, call us with where it has been left and we'll collect it from there.
In the city, Hull Royal Infirmary stands on Anlaby Road just outside the centre and has a multi-storey car park. Castle Hill Hospital is on the western side of Cottingham. The MKM Stadium, shared by Hull City and Hull FC, sits in West Park off Walton Street, and match days fill the roads around it. Paragon Interchange combines the railway station with a 38-stand bus station. On the northern edge, Kingswood's retail and leisure parks are reached over the Ennerdale Link bridges.

Not on the bridge deck itself. The bridge is run by the Humber Bridge Board, whose own response team attends breakdowns there and decides how a vehicle is moved off. Stay safe, follow their instructions, and once your car has been taken off the bridge, call or WhatsApp 07944 820302 with where it is. We'll collect it from there.
I've stopped on the A63 near North Ferriby. What do you need to know?
Which way you were heading, the last junction or landmark you passed, such as the Beacon services, and if you're on the main road, a slip road or a lay-by. Move clear onto the verge on the North Ferriby side and shelter behind the barrier if the road has one. If the car is sitting in a lane of the A63 and you can't safely leave it, 999 comes before us.
My car is in the multi-storey at Hull Royal Infirmary and won't start. Can you help?
Yes. Tell us the level and roughly where the car is. A flatbed usually can't get inside a multi-storey, so a jump start or a replacement battery fitted in the bay is normally the answer. If the car must be taken away, it may need moving to ground level first.
Can you take my car over the Humber Bridge to a garage in Lincolnshire?
Yes. Give us the garage's address when you call. The truck crosses the bridge like any other vehicle and the price you agree covers the whole journey.
