Vehicle recovery in Peterborough
The Fletton Parkway, the A1139, is the city's southern bypass. It runs from Junction 17 of the A1(M), where Peterborough services are, past junctions for Orton and the A1260, and then turns north as the Frank Perkins Parkway, the eastern bypass, named after the founder of Perkins Engines, which has its own junction. The Nene Parkway, the A1260, runs from the A15 at Hampton past Serpentine Green to the A47 at Longthorpe. The A47 itself crosses the north of the city as the Soke Parkway, and the A15 Paston and Werrington parkways head north past Werrington. The parkway junctions are numbered, and the number from the last sign you passed is the single most useful thing you can give us.
The A1(M) south of the city runs from Junction 14 at Alconbury to Junction 17. From 14 to 16 at Norman Cross it has four lanes each way, and three for the rest. At Junction 17, the A1139 heads into the city and there are links to the A605 for Oundle and Northampton. If you stop on the A1(M), get everyone out on the verge side and behind the barrier. If the car is stuck in a running lane and you can't get out safely, stay belted in and call 999.
In the centre, Queensgate has four colour-coded car parks with 2,268 spaces: Blue Cavell, Green Clare, Red Royce and Yellow Perkins, the last one next to the railway station. Accessible bays are on levels 5 and 6. Tell us the colour and the level. Peterborough City Hospital is on Bretton Gate, on the Edith Cavell healthcare campus in the west of the city.

My car is in a Queensgate car park and won't start. Can a truck get in?
Not usually onto the upper levels, so tell us the car park colour and the level. A jump start or a new battery in the bay usually solves it. If the car truly needs towing, it may need moving to ground level first, and we'll plan that with you.
I've stopped at Peterborough services on the A1(M). Can you collect from there?
